Why it works

BPC-157 and TB-500 are injected for tendon, ligament and muscle injuries. The idea is that they work through different routes. In lab and rodent studies BPC-157 promotes blood-vessel growth through VEGFR2 [1] and tendon-cell migration [2]. TB-500 is based on the actin-binding region of Thymosin beta-4 (TB-4), which in its unacetylated form promotes cell migration and wound healing [3].

How they work together

No study has tested this pair. The nearest is a retrospective phone survey in which 4 people had BPC-157 injected into the knee together with full-length thymosin beta-4, not TB-500. Three of the four reported relief [4]. In the one lab study that tested TB-500 directly, the intact peptide did not speed wound closure; one of its breakdown products did [5].

Worth knowing

The evidence card on this page is the point. BPC-157's human data are three small uncontrolled reports [6], and TB-500 has none. Both are unregulated products, and thymosin beta-4 products are banned in sport [7][8].
